Format matters in my classroom
In foreign language classes, the use of complete and correct sentences is critical to learning the language. In my future classroom, I will correct as many oral and written errors as possible. However, I need to make the correction in the least distracting way possible. To accomplish this, I can use a nonverbal sign, such as the sign language for "whole" (listed below), when I want the students to make a complete sentence.
Signal: Sign language for "whole"
Teacher: ¿Dónde se ducha? (Where does he shower?)
Student: baño (bathroom)
Teacher: (gives hand signal)
Student: Se ducha en el baño. (He showers in the bathroom.)
